In a surprising turn of events, JCM Bishop Muthee Kiengei has issued a public apology to Pritty Vishy on his Facebook page. The apology comes in response to the widespread backlash he faced for his recent derogatory comments about the popular Kenyan artist.
In his apology, Kiengei expressed regret for his words and acknowledged that they were hurtful and disrespectful. He emphasized that he did not intend to cause harm or promote body-shaming while at the same time welcoming pritty vishy to his church. Bishop Muthee Kiengei found himself at the centre of controversy after making degrading comments in a video hosted by Lizz Wangui.
The undated video made using the Gikuyu language quotes Muthee Kiengei as saying, “I am happy about the marriage between Stevo Simple boy and Pretty Vishy, while at that time Stevo Simple boy is sat comfortably at his house located in Kibera while saying ndio maanake. ”
While the apology has been met with mixed reactions, some have praised Kiengei for taking responsibility for his actions. However, others remain critical, arguing that the apology does not fully address the underlying issues raised by his comments.
Pritty vishy in long video in tiktok told Bishop Kiengei after his video appeared online, “@Bishop_Ben_JCM_Kenya Lets meet in your church on sunday,i want you to tell me infront of members and on that alter,I am used to being abused and body shaded by other people but a whole BISHOOOOOOOOOP?you are among the bishops and pastors that makes people like us hate church and since you have given me a reason to be back then i will come to you…..i pitty every woman who surronds you,i pitty your children,i wonder which bible you read,i wonder what type of members you teach and what do you teach them….For sure you are a disgrace #prittyvishy
It remains to be seen how Pritty Vishy will respond to Kiengei’s apology and whether the controversy will continue to escalate.
