It is evident that Meagan Good carries her unique sense of fashion everywhere she goes. On Thursday June 13th, Meagan Good brought her signature style and infectious energy to the red-carpet premiere of Tyler Perry’s new film, “Divorce in the Black,” While noticeably attending solo, Good turned heads in a chic bohemian-inspired two-piece set and a statement brim hat.
The actress, who plays the lead role of Ava in the film, was happy to pose with her co-stars, including Cory Hardrict and Richard Lawson. “Divorce in the Black” is a thriller that centers around Ava, a young professional whose world is turned upside down when her seemingly perfect marriage crumbles. The film explores themes of betrayal, self-discovery, and ultimately, finding strength in the face of adversity.
“a young bank professional who is devastated when her husband, Dallas, abandons a marriage she is determined to fight for, However, fate intervenes, revealing Dallas’ wicked deeds that have trashed their marriage, and once upon a time sabotaged Ava’s destiny to be loved by her true soulmate,” The film synopsis states.
While there was speculation surrounding the absence of Good’s boyfriend, Jonathan Majors, from the premiere, the focus remained firmly on her dazzling presence and the highly anticipated film. Good’s portrayal of Ava has already garnered significant buzz, with early reviews praising her powerful performance.
Good and Majors appeared on the red carpet together for the first time earlier this month, following the actor’s April sentencing to a year in a Los Angeles “in person batterers” intervention program.
He was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December 2023 for a domestic dispute that allegedly occurred in March 2023 involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
This solo red-carpet appearance doesn’t necessarily signify anything about Good’s relationship status. Regardless, Good stole the show and left everyone eager to see her tackle this complex role when “Divorce in the Black” premieres on Prime Video on July 11th.
