Jimmy Graham is an American football tight end for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played only one year of college football at the University of Miami after playing four years of basketball. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Graham has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

Graham began working with at-risk youth and military veterans through the Jimmy Graham Foundation. In 2020 and 2021, his work with the foundation earned him a nomination from the Chicago Bears as their nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
Graham is a pilot and became co-chairman, along with aerobatic champion Sean D. Tucker, of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles program in July 2018, which introduces children between the ages of 8 and 17 to general aviation.
In May 2023, Graham was hit by a car while bicycling in Miami, suffering a laceration on his calf that required stitches. According to friend A. J. Hawk, Graham stated that he did “more damage to the car than the car did to him.”

According to scouts, Graham was “extremely athletic, with an outstanding combination of size and speed for the tight end position,” yet he was considered very raw since he only had one year of college football experience. Graham was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, with the 95th overall selection. He signed a four-year, $2.445 million rookie contract on July 28, 2010. He was at New Orleans up to 2015 season when he joined Seattle Hawks, in the 2015 NFL draft. He played at Seattle Hawks where he played until the 2018 when he joined Green Bay Packers. On March 12, 2020 Graham was released by the packers after which he signed a two year $16 million contract with the Chicago Bears on March 6 2020. On July 25 2023, Graham signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on a second stint after spending the 2022 season out of football. According to TMZ sports, Graham has 713 career catches, 8,506 receiving yards and 85 touchdowns. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro.

The TMZ reported that at 5:01 PM PT a video of Jimmy Graham emerged running down a street at the Saints’ resort and being chased by security guards in the leadup to his Friday arrest.
In the footage, obtained by TMZ Sports, you see the NFL player running away from two security guards at a Southern California resort.
A Statement from New Orleans Saints indicated that said it was a medical condition related to a likely seizure.

Folks who were there says Jimmy was hiding in some bushes before fleeing from security. The Saints addressed Graham‘s arrest … saying the tight end experienced a “medical episode” Friday night, which resulted in him becoming disoriented.
After he was taken into custody, the team says Graham was sent to a nearby hospital to get checked out.
The Saints added Graham likely suffered a seizure … and spent the night in the medical facility to receive further testing. He is now back with the team.
TMZ broke the story indicating Graham was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.
GlobespaceNews.Com has learned that law enforcement responded to a call for a suspicious person acting erratically near a Southern California resort.
At the scene, cops claim they witnessed Graham walking in the streets and they attempted to arrest him, but he resisted.
The 36-year-old was eventually taken into custody for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer — both misdemeanors.
Graham has since been released. The incident is currently under investigation.

Surprisingly, the Saints are in town in preparation for their preseason matchup against the Chargers on Sunday … and spent part of their training camp in joint practice with their upcoming opponent earlier this week.

In fact, Graham commented on a video of him chatting with his former quarterback, Drew Brees, during Friday’s practice at Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa.

The Saints released a statement on their website to collaborate this information and indicating that,
"He was taken into custody by local authorities and transported to a local hospital for evaluation for what Dr. John Amoss believes to be a likely seizure and spent the night under medical supervision and testing. Amoss is the Saints’ team doctor."
Fox News states that New Orleans is preparing for its preseason game against the Chargers in Los Angeles with kickoff scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET Sunday. The team has been participating in joint practices with the Chargers this week at LA’s training camp facility in Costa Mesa, California.
