Tyrese Gibson 45, has been embroiled in a contentious legal battle over child support payments to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a daughter. The fast and furious actor and singer was arrested on Monday Sept 9 after failing to send child support to his ex-wife Samantha Lee.
Tyrese Gibson Previously Referred to Samantha Lee as Heartless
Tyrese and Samantha announced their separation after three years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in August 2021. The news came as a surprise to many fans who had followed their seemingly happy relationship. The couple released a joint statement, explaining that while they had deep love and respect for each other, they had grown apart. They emphasized their commitment to co-parenting their daughter Soraya in the best possible way.
In an Instagram post made October 24, 2024, Tyrese Gibson spilled a little tea about his Ex-wife Samantha Lee after their divorce noting that Samantha Lee tried to reconcile with him, but he wasn’t having it because he’s in a relationship with #ZelieTimothy. Tyrese Gibson made it clear he was not leaving his lady. In addition, he called Samantha a clout chaser who was seeking to grow her social media following. “Everything about the way you left me was heartless. It was evil. You never considered me, your marriage, let alone your innocent one-year-old year child,” he said.
Tyrese Gibson Had Foreseen His Arrest and Accused the Judge of Conspiring with His Ex-wife legal team
Tyrese and Samantha Lee share a five year old daughter. In a now deleted Instagram post, Tyrese had foreseen his arrest on Monday September 9 when he told his fans he expected to be arrested and a Georgia judge ordered him to be taken into custody for failure to pay child support.
Judge Kevin Famer told Tyrese he could avoid jail by paying $73,000 to ex-wife Samantha Lee, per TMZ. Dennis Byron, who attended the court hearing, said Tyrese promptly arranged to make the payment. Judge Farmer previously ordered the Fast & Furious star to pay roughly $10,000 a month in child support. According to AllHiphop.com Tyrese accused the judge of conspiring with his ex-wife’s legal team in his now-deleted Instagram post.
“He illegally tried to bring a $10,690 child support payment from California that I’m giving my 17-year-old currently to Atlanta for my five-year-old,” Tyrese wrote. “They have illegally cracked my prenuptial agreement.”
He continued, “Without a court order started giving my ex $3600 a month and child support for a one-year-old at the time on my own prior to going to court to do a divorce trial. And after two years of $3600 a month, Judge Kevin M Farmer decided to go back two years and turn my $3600 into $10,690. That’s called a retroactive child support payment a.k.a he went backwards just because he felt like it.”
He would later post a conveyor of photos of his daughter with the caption, “The love that a father can have for his children can’t quite be explained………….whatever the outcome it today………I am and will be forever be their FATHER.
Tyrese Gibson Alleges Judge Has a Vendetta Against him
Speaking to People.com Tyrese Gibson alleges the judge has a vendetta against him.
He “hates my guts,” Gibson says of the judge, adding, “He wants to assert his power and he doesn’t care who’s watching.”
“It’s unbearable being in court with him,” Gibson says.
