Lil Durk is a Grammy-winning Chicago rapper that has been charged in a murder for hire plot and is now in custody. The CBSNews reported that the Englewood neighborhood native was arrested Thursday night in South Florida as he was attempting to free the county.

The 32 year old Grammy-winning artist was arrested on Thursday and is currently held in a Broward County Jail, awaiting transfer to U.S Marshals. The charges are tied to a larger federal case surrounding a plot to target Georgia-based rapper Quando Rondo, reportedly in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Chicago rapper King Von, a close friend and collaborator of Banks. This recent indictment has sparked significant attention due to alleged betrayal within OTF, involving an informant who reportedly cooperated with authorities for years. The informant, identified as OTF member Jam, allegedly wore a hidden wire for several years to gather evidence for authorities. Jam, who was released from prison in 2022 after serving 12 years for attempted murder, reportedly provided information directly linking Banks to the murder-for-hire scheme against Rondo, born Tyquian Terrel Bowman.

Chicago rapper King Yella also said he heard "OTF Jam" implicated Lil Durk in murder of Quando Rondo's cousin Lul Pab in retaliation for King Von's death.

According to the federal complaints, they state the OTF members acted on the orders of Durk, who prosecutors believe was looking for revenge for King Von's October 2020 shooting death after a clash with Quando's camp in Atlanta. The docs, state that Durk was the one who placed the bounty on Quando and helped others procure the ski masks, rental cars, and hotel rooms to assist in the hired hit.

Lil Durk Phone Number Associated with the Hit
The feds say telecommunications record show a phone number linked with Durk was looking to cover his tracks when he texted one of the defendants, "Don't book no flights under no names involved with (sic) me." The Feds believe that he is allegedly linked by credit cards to the flights. The alleged OTF members are accused of firing at least 18 rounds at Quando's vehicle at the behest of Lil Durk at a Los Angeles gas station with surveillance videos appearing to have captured the entire thing in broad daylight. Lil Durk was arrested by the Feds on Thursday evening where they intercepted him at the Miami airport before he could jet away to Italy. The FBI got notice Durk was booked on a private flight set for later Thursday night and he was arrested an hour before the scheduled takeoff.
Lil Durk Keys to the City Yanked After Murder Arrest
Lil Durk received the keys to Chicago villages Broadview and Bellwood on October 18, but Broadview mayor Katrina Thompson hit a U-turn stating she can't afford to be seen doing business with whatever Durk was being accused off.
